Grant really is taking leaps and bounds with communication. We are starting to see that he is understanding more and more words each day. Momma of course is used the most often and typically when said can achieve anything he needs or wants because I can take care of it. He is getting better with using Dadda more regularly with Jeff and refers to Sydney as da, meaning doggie.
One of our favorite quirks about Grant learning how to talk is his interpretation of words. We have lots of books with animal pictures and when we come across a picture of a doggie we also tell Grant that a doggie says "woof woof." Now when Grant hears a dog barking in the neighborhood or Sydney barking he also starts barking. Grant has all the neighbors on the floor laughing when he goes over to their houses because like clock-work he will bark if their dogs bark.
Words that Grant has started to say:
Ba means ball
Da means dog
Dadda
Momma
Eat is in sign language
All done is in sign language
As Grant understands more and more each day and we know with time he will also start to say the words he wants instead of a point and screech! I am loving that he is starting to communicate with us and can start telling us what he thinks!
