We are down to the wire with moving in less than three months so we made a bucket list of things that we wanted to do as a family before leaving Colorado. The Royal Gorge was an absolute must. The drive there wasn't too bad and it was fun to take a mini-road trip as family. We really did luck out with amazing weather, 90 degrees with a good breeze!
The petting zoo and different animals throughout the gorge were the best. Grant loved seeing all the different animals and seemed fearless of them at times. I think it is because Sydney has no problem licking his face and being in his business he is used to furry friends.
Walking across the bridge itself wasn't too bad...it was the looking down part that was nauseating. Looking down you could see a tiny river that I am sure if you were up close to it it would be massive. The Royal Gorge bridge is the world's highest suspension bridge, which is pretty cool. It was such a beautiful place and we had such a great time as a family. After this trip we made sure to promise one another that more family day trips are needed in the future!
